Thomas Edison State College
Identified by Forbes magazine as one of the top 20 colleges and universities in the nation in the use of technology to create learning opportunities for adults, Thomas Edison State College is a national leader in the assessment of adult learning and a pioneer in the use of educational technologies. Students earn degrees through a wide variety of rigorous and high-quality academic methods that can be customized to meet their individual needs. One of New Jersey's 12 senior public institutions of higher education, the College offers 17 associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees in more than 100 areas of study. The philosophy of Thomas Edison State College ’s School of Applied Science and Technology emphasizes providing the flexibility to integrate skills and knowledge acquired outside academia by granting academic credit for professional licenses/certifications, apprenticeships, and military/industrial training.
Additional credit may be transferred from other institutions, under our liberal transfer policies, or earned through alterative methods including TECEP, CLEP and DANTES examinations and Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).
Thomas Edison State College is regionally accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of College and Schools.
EPCE partnered with Thomas Edison State College in 2006 to provide the Bachelor of Science in Applied Science & Technology in Energy Utility Technology. As part of the EPCE partnership, Thomas Edison State College has developed an articulation agreement with Bismarck State College's AAS in Electric Power Technology degree program. This provides an opportunity for students who have completed the AAS degree in Electric Power Technology at Bismarck State College to apply all credits toward this bachelor's degree.
