Virtual High School, Inc.
Virtual High School, Inc. (VHS) is a non-profit organization that offers content-rich, credit-bearing high school courses to students across the country and around the world. VHS has proven in its ten-year history to be committed to quality course design, online education standards, student assessment, teacher professional development, and teacher certification. VHS works with over 390 schools in 30 states plus 25 international schools.
The Energy Providers Coalition for Education (EPCE) first partnered with Virtual High School in 2006 to offer online courses to Denver Public School students. This program links mathematics skills to future career opportunities by offering online courses in mathematics as well as opportunities to connect with local utilities looking for job candidates. The program will also help familiarize students with e-learning, an increasingly widespread teaching method for colleges, universities, and employers. The program is funded by the Xcel Energy Foundation.
