After graduating from high school, Dave took a myriad of college courses. He fully understood the value of higher education but never focused on a specific major. Eventually he abandoned his collegiate pursuits to enter the workforce.

Today, Dave works for Rochester Gas & Electric (RG&E) as a Field Engineer. "I thoroughly enjoy the electric utility industry and know that this is where I want to commit my expertise."

When he received a company email message outlining the benefits of EPCE's online education programs, he began to consider going back to school. "EPCE programs were particularly interesting to me because they are employer endorsed, industry-specific and available online. I knew this was my chance to earn the degree that eluded me years before."

According to Dave, "The instructors at BSC were terrific." Another element of the program that Dave enjoyed was the collaboration. "One normally considers online learning self-paced and independently focused. The EPCE programs provide flexibility through autonomy, but there is also a unique collaborative environment. You communicate regularly with your professors and peers so it isn't as if you are alone." In fact, Dave enjoyed the program so much that he encouraged his co-worker, Jackie, to enter the program. She is now a current student.

Dave feels, "My degree gives me a certain a sense of security. I now have the paperwork to back-up my knowledge and those credentials are important in today's competitive corporate environment."

Now that he has earned his AAS degree, Dave is looking at Bachelor's programs. Because all of his credits will transfer, he is carefully considering the EPCE sponsored BSAST in Energy Utility Technology offered by Thomas Edison State College.
